Milan

Milan is the biggest city of North Italy and is one of the most highly developed urban centers in Europe. It is a powerhouse of the country and one of the most stylish cities on the planet. It’s relatively small for a big city but the greater metro area is quite large and extends into southern Switzerland. The city is not famous for its looks, in Milan it is lifestyle that counts the most. Shopping (especially for fashion) is of a nearly religious significance to the locals. It also boasts some great art works and artists, such as Michelangelo's final sculpture and Da Vinci's 'The Last Supper'. The cultural scene is so vibrant and diverse it embraces opera, fashion shows and everlasting nightlife with ease. It might be pricey, but it’s worth it!

3. Hear opera sung in the magical La Scala, if you are lucky enough to get tickets during the 6-month opera season.
4. Lake Como/Lake District daytrip - take a tram up to Brunate for the view, enjoy a boat trip & hike to Volta Lighthouse.
5. Visit the old-fashioned quarter of Porta Ticinese at night and stroll with the local Milanese near the Colonne di San Lorenzo.
