The ASEAN Club Championship is a biennial regional club tournament for Southeast Asian clubs that is run by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The event is hosted in its entirety in one of AFF's member nations and takes about 2 weeks to complete from the Group Stage opener to the Final. 8 to 12 clubs (usually the top league champion) from the member federations qualify to participate. The tournament began in 2003, though there was a predecessor tournament in December 1984 as part of the Asian Champions Cup 1985/86.
