The Peace Cup is an biennial pre-season football tournament held in South Korea and other nations worldwide. It is similar in format and principle to an the FIFA Club World Cup, but in an unofficial capacity. It is owned by the Sunmoon Peace Football Foundation. The inaugural tournament took place in the summer of 2003 in South Korea. The tournament involves 12 clubs from 7 continents including Korean club Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, which is owned by the organizing company (the Unification Church). The 12 teams are divided into 4 groups of 3 teams. Each team plays 1 match against each other in the Group Stage, the 1st place in each group will qualify to the Semifinals and the winners will advance to the Final match.
