The East Asian Football Championship (aka East Asian Championship, Football Championship or East Asian Cup) is a regional football tournament held biennially for East Asian/Oriental nations, organized by the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF).
The men's tournament was 1st held in 2003 in Japan. The big 3 members China, South Korea and Japan automatically enter the competition, while the other smaller EAFF members have to go through a preliminary competition, the winner qualifies for the Final Competition. The tournament is hosted by one of the big 3 nations and is run as a round-robin format where all 4 nations plays the others 3 once, the team leading the table wins the cup.
