The South American Games (aka ODESUR Games, Juegos Sudamericanos in Spanish or Jogos Sul-Americanos in Portuguese) are a continental multi-sport event (including football) held every 4 years for South American nations, organized by the South American Sports Organization (OrganizaciĆ³n Deportiva Sudamericana, ODESUR).
The 1st Games were held in 1978 in La Paz, Bolivia. They have since been held every 4 years. The tournament was formerly called the Southern Cross Games (Juegos Cruz del Sur in Spanish).
