Oslo City Halls (Radhus) situated in Pipervika in central downtown, has unique architecture and artworks. What truly makes it the most famous Oslo building however is its annual hosting of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony on December 10th.

Vigeland Sculpture Park/Frogner Park

The park covers 80 acres and features 212 bronze and granite sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland. He personally sculpted every figure out of clay and craftsmen later fabricated the pieces into what they are today.

Akershus Fortress & Castle

Akershus Fortress survived many sieges since 1290, primarily by Sweden, and was never captured. It was so strategically important it was said that whoever ruled Akershus ruled Norway. In the 1600s it was remodeled like a renaissance castle.

Viking Ship Museum

The Viking Ship Museum on the Bygdøy Peninsula has two 900 year-old ships which were buried inside funeral mounds and are thought to be the best preserved in the world. It also has viking artifacts and a burial chamber with ancient skeletons.

The Scream at Munch Museum

The Scream is well established as the epitome of Edvard Munch's work as an artist. The painting, which seethes with movement, appears to be painted with an explosive force and the result is a genuine expression of an agitated mind.
