The South Pacific Games (aka Pacific Games) are a regional multi-sport event (including football) held every 4 years for South Pacific nations, organized by the South Pacific Commission (SPC).
The football competition of the games are used as preliminary qualification for the OFC Nations Cup and the FIFA World Cup.
In 1962, the SPC founded the South Pacific Games. The 1st South Pacific Games was held in Suva, Fiji in 1963. Many of the competing island nations used either the British or French flags and anthems with the exception of Samoa.
