The Arab Nations Cup (aka Arab Cup) is an ethno-cultural football tournament held sporadically every 4 years or so for Arab nations (West Asia/Middle East and North/East Africa), organized by the Union Arab de Football Association (UAFA).
The tournament began in 1963 and since has been held at irregular intervals. The 1992 edition was held as the football tournament of the Arab Games. During the long interruption between 1966 and 1985, the tournament was replaced by (or renamed to) the Palestine Cup, of which 3 editions were held in the 1970s.
